Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy describes how michalek.blog uses cookies and similar technologies. For how we use personal data overall, see the Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences or measure usage. Some cookies are set by third parties (e.g. analytics).

2. How we use cookies

2.1 Essential / preference cookies

We store your cookie consent choice in localStorage under the key michalek-cookie-consent (essential or all). This is not sent to our servers; it only controls whether analytics may load.

2.2 Analytics cookies (optional)

If you choose Accept analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) asynchronously after page load. GA4 may set cookies such as _ga to distinguish users and measure traffic. We configure IP anonymisation where available.

Analytics cookies are not placed if you choose Essential only or ignore the banner (no analytics load until you accept).

3. Third parties

  • Google Analytics — usage statistics. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — hosting; may use cookies or similar tech for platform features and security on their edge network.

4. Managing cookies

  • Use the cookie banner on first visit to accept or refuse analytics.
  • Clear site data in your browser to reset the choice and see the banner again.
  • Block third-party cookies in browser settings.
  • Install a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on from Google if you prefer.
