This website michalek.blog is operated by Martin Michálek (sole proprietor, Czech Republic) as a personal tech blog and portfolio for web performance consulting.
This policy explains what data we process, why, and what rights you have under the GDPR.

2. What we collect
When you browse this site we may process:
- Server and access logs — IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp. Generated by our host (Vercel) for security and operations.
- Analytics data (optional) — if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 may collect usage statistics (pages viewed, device type, approximate location). IP addresses are anonymised where supported.
- Contact by email — if you write to us, we process the information you send (name, email, message content).
We do not run comment forms, newsletters, or e-commerce on this site. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
3. Legal basis and purpose
- Legitimate interest — operating and securing the website, understanding aggregate traffic when you consent to analytics.
- Consent — non-essential cookies (analytics). You can refuse or withdraw consent via the cookie banner or browser settings.
- Contract / pre-contractual steps — responding to business enquiries by email.
4. Processors and hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, Inc. (USA/EU regions). Vercel processes access logs and delivers static files. Google LLC processes analytics data only if you accept analytics cookies. Both providers may transfer data outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
See also our Cookie Policy for cookie details.
5. Retention
- Server logs — typically retained by Vercel for a limited period per their policy.
- Analytics — per Google Analytics retention settings (default 14 months unless changed).
- Email correspondence — as long as needed for the enquiry and legal obligations (usually up to 4 years for business records).
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request:
- access to your personal data;
- rectification or erasure;
- restriction of processing;
- data portability (where applicable);
- objection to processing based on legitimate interest;
- withdrawal of consent for analytics at any time (clear site data or use “Essential only” in the cookie banner on a fresh visit).

7. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
